Nancy Bechtol's new installation: "~streetwired~” is a conceptual/video installation.
May 4 - May 28th exhibition
This installation also gives visitors and vendors a new way to see each other , bringing what is usually seen "outside" in an urban setting, or the streets to the "inside"—a gallery presentation.-
“~streetwired~” is a new revision of the installation that was first presented in 1998 and 1999. The first time this installation was presented in 1998, it was in conjunction with the opening of International Sculpture. Chicago.
Nancy Bechtol comments: As an artist, I feel that sometimes an unusual approach to an important and difficult subject is a good way to bring attention to it. I have long been a buyer of the StreetWise Newspaper over the years. There resides an artistic and conceptual connection with bent and rusted wires which I have ‘collected' for nearly 7 years, and the grander issues.
