Bechtol's digital photography was selected for the III and IV Edition of “Art-e-mail”, International Exhibition, MAC21, International Contemporary Art Fairin the Marbella Exhibition and Congress Centre, Costa del Sol, Spain for 2001 and 2002. "Electronic Visions" at the SFAC Suburban Fine Arts Center. Group show of 5 artist in new technologies. Nancy Bechtol in collaboration with EmjayZee, "Emjayzee:Portraits of Menominee Indian Poet" This work has been accepted into the permanent collection of the Illinois State Museum.

  "ECHO~68 to 98~ Nancy Bechtol: reinvents/retro" (this is before Tom Petty named his album ECHO--must be in the air) Major Solo exhibition shown at ARC Gallery, Chicago. Over 100 works in many media including drawing, etchings, painting, original audio, video, photography and performance were shown to a capacity crowd. 11/98. Live performance at the opening entitled, " REALITY>VIRTUAL REALITY," commented on everyday living and our daily contact. The jacket I wore takes on the persona of the'other' The name on the jacket is Paul, of "Bud's Towing Service" reflects upon all work--all jobs--what we do, and what we need to do... as equal--everyone does something...including artists. The artist comments:(problably 90% which hold regular jobs..and do their art) Live People "attached to the gallery wall, included audience members--joined by the tools of the trade in organized chaos." Electricity, using an old fashioned energy kit, provided sparks symbolic of all energy and exchange of energy that takes place in our daily living.

  "Collections Show". This is a showing of eclectic collections of the artists. Nancy Bechtol is showing a grouping of street found wires, which has evoked a current social bend to it.

  

  "StreetWise/Streetwire" 5/98. A conceptual/installation/with live performance event juxtaposing StreetWise Vendors with rusted wires found on the street. It speaks to discarded and displaced people and things in society. The artist has the cooperation with the StreetWise Organization, which helps homeless persons with employment opportunities and other services.

It can occur with or without words, and is most often felt by an 'energy exchange.' Bechtol creates an art exhibit with a conceptual edge for this showing of multimedia concepts, original thoughts, works, digital photography, and performance. This work focuses on animal to animal communications and explores the psyche of inter-species(between), intra-species(within), and inner-species (internal/spiritual) communications.
